Hyderabad: Telangana minority welfare remained a priority for the people’s government, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said at a minority achievers’ conference in Hyderabad. He said he saw no difference between Hindus and Muslims and described both communities as his two eyes.
Reddy urged candidates who secured government jobs to work for Telangana Rising. He addressed the Telangana Minorities Pratibha conference at the Komuram Bheem Adivasi Bhavan in Banjara Hills.
The Chief Minister congratulated 782 minority candidates who secured appointments through Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, Group 4 and other recruitment processes. He also praised minority students who achieved strong results in national-level examinations, including NEET, IIT and NIT.
Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Azharuddin and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy attended the programme. Government adviser Mohammed Ali Shabbir, TGMREIS president Faheem Qureshi, several public representatives and officials also took part.
Reddy outlined the welfare measures that the people’s government had taken for minorities. He stressed education and skill development as key areas for young people.
“Education alone changes our future. We must study from nursery to Class 12. After that, students must focus on skills,” Reddy said. He said the current employment market offered many opportunities to people with relevant skills.
He cited Germany and Japan as countries where skilled workers had several employment opportunities. The government had converted ITIs into Advanced Technology Centres to prepare young people for skilled employment, he said.
The government had also brought polytechnic colleges under the Skills University, Reddy said. He told the successful candidates that skills could change their future. He congratulated those who came from modest family backgrounds and worked hard to secure government jobs.

Reddy said some groups had tried to remove the four per cent reservation provided to minorities. Those efforts had failed despite repeated attempts, he said.
He said the government had also given minorities priority in welfare programmes. Families from minority communities had benefited significantly from free electricity of up to 200 units, according to the Chief Minister.
Reddy criticised the previous government over its record on government recruitment. He said that administration had not completed Group 1 recruitment or other major job appointments.
He referred to an earlier attempt to conduct the Group 1 examination. Reddy alleged that people sold examination papers in the open market during that process.
The Chief Minister said the Public Service Commission needed qualified members to select candidates for posts such as Group 1 and Group 2. He alleged that the previous government had appointed people without the necessary qualifications to the commission.
After the people’s government took office, it consulted the Union Public Service Commission chairman and experts, Reddy said. The government then carried out a complete overhaul of the Telangana Public Service Commission.
He said several groups had created obstacles to stop Public Service Commission examinations in the State. The government treated the candidates as members of its own family and fought the legal battles on their behalf, he said.
Reddy said the government appointed senior lawyers to contest the cases from the High Court to the Supreme Court. Their legal efforts helped the government complete the recruitment process, he said.
The Chief Minister asked the newly selected candidates to contribute to Telangana Rising. He congratulated the 782 minority achievers recognised at the conference.
