Hyderabad: Four Kamareddy PACS chairmen were appointed to primary agricultural cooperative societies in the Assembly constituency, with the new office-bearers meeting Government Adviser Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Tuesday.
Baddam Indrakaran Reddy was appointed chairman of the Rameshwarpally PACS in Biknoor mandal. Chittedi Sudhakar Reddy took charge as chairman of the Anthampally PACS. Meanwhile, Anantha Reddy was appointed chairman of the Domakonda PACS.
Nausilal Naik was appointed chairman of the Machareddy PACS. The newly appointed chairmen met Shabbir and thanked him for the responsibilities entrusted to them. Shabbir congratulated the new office-bearers and asked them to focus on farmers’ welfare and strengthen cooperative societies.
Kamareddy PACS chairmen asked to ensure transparent services
Shabbir directed the chairmen to ensure that farmers received government schemes and cooperative services transparently. He particularly referred to agricultural loans, fertilisers and seeds among services that should reach farmers without difficulties.
The Government Adviser said PACS should not function merely as institutions providing agricultural loans. Instead, he said the societies should emerge as important centres supporting farmers’ economic development and strengthening the agricultural sector.
Shabbir asked the chairmen to identify problems faced by farmers in their respective areas. They should bring those issues to the attention of the officials concerned and take the initiative to secure solutions, he said.
Moreover, he stressed transparency and accountability in the functioning of cooperative societies. Shabbir said every farmer should receive equal access to services offered through the societies.
He particularly asked the Kamareddy PACS chairmen to focus on ensuring government assistance reached small and marginal farmers. The Government Adviser later felicitated the newly appointed chairmen and conveyed his best wishes.
The chairmen said they would discharge their responsibilities effectively and work for the welfare and advancement of farmers.
Congress leaders attend PACS programme
Library Chairman Chandrakanth Reddy participated in the programme. Youth Congress State leader Mohammed Ilyas also attended. Congress mandal presidents Patha Raju, Asha Poyina Srinivas and Nagannagari Narender Reddy were present.
Balyala Sudarshan and former MPP Gal Reddy also participated, along with Tirumal Goud. Kamareddy town Congress president Aireni Sandeep attended the programme. Suthari Ramesh, Ganesh Naik, Shyam Reddy and Baga Reddy were also present.
Sarpanches and local leaders, including Iron Narsaiah, Santosh Reddy, Madhu, Saleem and Sanjeeva Reddy, participated. Pamula Limbadri, Dayakar Reddy, Dumpala Mohan Reddy and Bansilal also attended.
Congress leaders, party workers and representatives of cooperative societies were among the other participants. The Kamareddy PACS chairmen said they would use their new responsibilities to support farmers and improve the functioning of their respective cooperative societies.
