Chitrapuri Colony scam linked to illegal villa works

Police earlier arrested society president Vallabhaneni Anil Kumar. However, several other accused persons remain at large. Investigators also connected the alleged fraud to unauthorised villa construction in Manikonda’s Chitrapuri Colony.

Officials demolished several villas in August 2024. They said the group built G+2 and G+3 units although approvals covered only G+1. They also found more villas than the sanctioned count. The team estimated the scam at ₹300 crore and alleged that plots meant for low-income film workers went to other beneficiaries.
