Hyderabad: The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) has released a notification to fill 102 vacant posts in the state’s Finance and Statistics Department. The posts include Mandal Planning and Statistical Officer (MPSO) and Assistant Statistical Officer (ASO) positions in the Directorate of Economics and Statistics.
Online applications will open on October 30, and candidates can apply until November 27. The commission has urged interested candidates to apply early instead of waiting for the last date.
Only candidates who have completed a degree with Statistics as the main subject are eligible, TGPSC said. Applicants must be at least 18 years old as on July 1, 2026, and must not exceed 44 years. Government rules provide age relaxation for reserved categories, including SC, ST, BC and Divyang candidates.
OC and BC candidates must pay an application fee of Rs. 1000, while SC, ST and Divyang candidates must pay Rs. 500. According to the commission, selected candidates will receive a monthly pay scale of Rs. 36,750 to Rs. 1,06,990.
Exam likely in January
The commission is preparing to hold a written examination for these posts in January, though it has not yet fixed the exact date. Candidates can download their hall tickets from the official TGPSC website a week before the examination.
These posts play a key role in planning and implementing government schemes. Officers will collect and analyse the statistics the government needs at the mandal level and report the information required for development programmes to higher authorities.
Officials have advised candidates to read the official notification carefully for details such as zone-wise vacancies, the syllabus and the examination pattern. The commission will announce any changes on its official website.
