Future City: Police Commissioner Dr. Tarun Joshi, IPS, donated blood at a mega camp in Ibrahimpatnam on Thursday. The Ibrahimpatnam Division Police ran the camp at Shastra Gardens. The commissioner’s gesture set an example of humanity, service and social responsibility.
The police held the camp as part of Police Commemoration Week–2026. Maheshwaram Zone DCP K. Narayana Reddy, IPS, led the effort under the guidance of Commissioner Joshi. The camp focused on children with thalassemia, a blood disorder that requires regular transfusions. It aimed to encourage voluntary donation and show how a single donation can save lives.
Commissioner Joshi joined several police officers in giving blood. The move highlighted the department’s commitment to serving society beyond its regular policing duties.
