Hyderabad: Telangana Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Monday accused BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao of misleading unemployed youth with his criticism of the Congress government’s employment record. He said the BRS failed to fulfil its promises on jobs and left behind delayed recruitments and the TSPSC question paper leak.
Shabbir Ali alleged that KTR was trying to divert attention from the BRS government’s record of unfulfilled promises. He said lakhs of job aspirants suffered because of recruitment delays and the recruitment examination paper leak.
He claimed BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao came to power after raising expectations that every family would receive a government job. Later, KCR denied making such a promise, Shabbir Ali alleged. He also claimed that the BRS promised a monthly unemployment allowance of Rs 3,016 in its 2018 election manifesto but never paid the benefit.
Shabbir Ali cites TSPSC paper leak and recruitment delays
Shabbir Ali asked KTR to explain why the promised unemployment allowance was never paid. He also questioned why job aspirants had to wait for years for recruitment notifications, examinations and results. Those who failed to provide employment or financial support could not now claim to represent unemployed youth, he said.
He described the TSPSC paper leak as the biggest setback to recruitment under the BRS government. According to him, several recruitment examination papers were compromised. Authorities cancelled or postponed multiple examinations. As a result, candidates prepared again and spent additional money on coaching, accommodation and travel.
According to Shabbir Ali, the paper leak damaged public confidence in the recruitment system. He said KTR should apologise to unemployed youth for what he called an institutional failure before criticising the present government.
Congress defends government’s recruitment drive
Shabbir Ali said the Congress government, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, inherited stalled recruitment processes, legal disputes, administrative delays and a weakened Telangana State Public Service Commission. Despite those challenges, the government resumed recruitment, completed pending selections and issued appointment orders to thousands of candidates, he said.
He alleged that KTR was questioning completed appointments by focusing on when recruitment notifications were issued. However, candidates were concerned about getting jobs rather than political arguments over which government initiated the recruitment process, he said.
Shabbir Ali said the Congress government was clearing pending recruitment issues and ensuring selected candidates joined service. He alleged that the BRS was trying to turn the suffering of unemployed youth into a political issue because it had no credible answer to allegations over its own record.
He said the government was creating employment through public recruitment, industrial investment, skill development and self-employment programmes. Furthermore, recruitment would continue through a transparent process without compromising the integrity of examinations.
Shabbir Ali urged young people to judge political parties by their performance. He alleged that the BRS left behind an unpaid unemployment allowance, prolonged recruitment delays and the TSPSC paper leak. Meanwhile, he said the Congress government was restoring credibility to the recruitment process and expanding employment opportunities.
