Hyderabad Police grant conditional permission for BRSV protest at Indira Park
Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police granted BRSV protest permission for a dharna at Dharna Chowk, Indira Park, on Friday, subject to strict conditions. Bharat Rashtra Samithi Vidyarthi Vibhagam (BRSV) will organise the protest under the leadership of BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR).
Secunderabad Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police Rakshitha K. Murthy, IPS, issued the permission to BRSV State President Gelu Srinivas Yadav. The protest will take place on July 24, 2026, from 10 am to 2 pm. BRSV announced the dharna to condemn the alleged lathi-charge on students in Delhi and other parts of the country. The organisation also plans to express solidarity with the students. Police capped participation at 1,000 members.
BRSV protest permission carries strict conditions
The police directed organisers to follow prohibitory orders issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). They must also ensure that the protest does not disturb law and order, communal harmony or public peace.
Police will cancel the permission immediately if any disturbance occurs. They also directed organisers to prevent participants from marching towards the Telangana Assembly or Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat. Organisers must not allow any unlawful assembly.
The permission applies only to the approved venue. Any change in location will lead to cancellation and legal action.
Organisers must ensure smooth traffic movement and avoid inconvenience to the public. They must obtain traffic clearance and arrange adequate parking for vehicles.
BRSV protest permission bars drones and online mobilisation
Hyderabad Police banned sky lanterns, drone cameras and firecrackers during the protest. They also instructed organisers to keep attendance within the permitted limit and follow the approved timings.
Police prohibited high-volume sound systems, DJs and sound mixers beyond permissible noise levels. Organisers must stay in touch with the SHO of Domalguda Police Station throughout the programme. They must also follow every instruction issued by police personnel.
Organisers must videograph the entire event and submit the footage to the SHO of Domalguda Police Station.
Police also barred advertisements and social media campaigns that could attract excessive crowds. Officials warned that any violation would invite prosecution under the Hyderabad City Police Act and other applicable laws.
