Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju directed officials to strengthen MeeSeva centres across Telangana. He asked them to prepare a comprehensive action plan to deliver faster and more efficient digital services to citizens.
Jaju met a delegation led by Mahesh Uttamchandani, Regional Director for Digital–Asia Pacific at the World Bank, at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat. Moreover, the discussions focused on expanding digital governance and improving citizen services.
Officials reviewed the modernisation of MeeSeva centres and the development of new data centres in Bharat Future City. In addition, they discussed Artificial Intelligence (AI), cyber security, Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and IT-based employment opportunities for youth.
World Bank representatives appreciated Telangana’s digital governance reforms. They also shared suggestions on improving digital capacity, public service delivery and data governance. They offered technical cooperation, knowledge sharing and global best practices.
The delegation said Haryana and Telangana offer favourable conditions for digital investments. Further, it advised the State to prepare detailed project reports for projects worth around ₹2,000 crore.
MeeSeva centres, T-Fiber implementation reviewed
Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary separately reviewed the progress of the T-Fiber project. He assessed broadband expansion, infrastructure development and service rollout in both rural and urban areas.
Jaju directed officials to complete T-Fiber works within the stipulated timeline. He also asked departments to resolve implementation issues through better coordination. Officials should closely monitor the project’s progress.
He said timely completion of T-Fiber would help deliver quality digital services across the State.
