Adluri criticises Centre over Revanth Reddy US visit cancellation

Hyderabad: Welfare Minister Adluri Lakshman Kumar criticised the Centre over the cancellation of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s proposed US visit. He alleged that political considerations should not obstruct Telangana’s development or opportunities for its youth.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Lakshman Kumar said the Revanth Reddy US visit was planned for official purposes. He said the Chief Minister intended to attract investments and create employment opportunities in Telangana. Moreover, the proposed visit focused on building international partnerships.

Lakshman Kumar said the state government wanted to develop Hyderabad as a global hub for knowledge and education. It also sought to strengthen skills, research, technology and innovation. However, he alleged that the Centre appeared to have created hurdles for those efforts.

Revanth Reddy US visit aimed at global partnerships

Lakshman Kumar said the proposed visit was not a personal trip by the Chief Minister. Instead, he said it aimed to bring globally reputed educational, research and skill institutions to Hyderabad.

The government also wanted to forge international partnerships and create world-class opportunities for Telangana’s youth, he said. “If permission for such a visit has been denied for political reasons, it gives rise to serious concerns,” Lakshman Kumar said.

He added that such an approach was not healthy for a democratic system. The Minister said Telangana’s development interests should receive priority over political differences between the Centre and the state.

According to him, initiatives involving investment, employment and education directly affected the future of young people. Therefore, he urged the Centre to reconsider any approach that placed political differences ahead of development.

Adluri seeks cooperation after Revanth Reddy US visit cancellation

Lakshman Kumar acknowledged that political differences could exist between the Central and state governments. However, he said both governments should rise above those differences on matters involving development and youth.

He called for cooperation between the Centre and Telangana to create better opportunities for young people. The Minister maintained that the Revanth Reddy US visit had focused on attracting investment and strengthening Hyderabad’s global links.

He also said the government wanted reputed international institutions to establish educational, research and skill partnerships with Telangana. According to Lakshman Kumar, such partnerships could support the state’s plans in knowledge, technology and innovation.

He argued that political considerations should not stand in the way of those objectives. The Minister therefore urged both governments to work together when dealing with Telangana’s development and the future of its youth.
