Hyderabad: Hyderabad rain preparedness efforts received a boost on Saturday as Director General of Police C.V. Anand inspected rain-affected areas and reviewed measures to tackle waterlogging and traffic disruptions.
The DGP visited Malkampeta Cheruvu and Tolichowki to assess the ground situation following heavy rainfall.
During the visit, he held discussions with Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty on public safety and traffic management measures.

C.V. Anand directed police officials to take immediate steps to prevent water stagnation on roads and clear traffic bottlenecks.
He also instructed officers to coordinate closely with civic authorities to restore normalcy at the earliest.
Meanwhile, the DGP stressed the need for continuous monitoring of vulnerable locations.
He directed officials to deploy adequate personnel at key junctions to regulate traffic and assist commuters.
Further, police officers in Hyderabad and other rain-affected districts were asked to remain alert and prepare for any emergency arising from heavy rainfall.
He instructed field officers to maintain close coordination with district administrations, disaster response agencies and municipal authorities.
Additionally, the DGP emphasised the importance of providing timely assistance to people affected by rain-related incidents.
He also advised citizens to exercise caution while travelling and avoid waterlogged areas.
Further, he urged the public to follow advisories issued by police and other government departments.
Officials said Hyderabad rain preparedness measures would continue throughout the monsoon season to ensure public safety and effective emergency response.
