Hyderabad: A stray dog attack left five women injured in Sriram Nagar Colony of Kamareddy town on Wednesday, with residents accusing municipal authorities of ignoring repeated complaints about the menace. According to residents, the dog attacked five women who were walking through the colony, causing injuries to their heads, thighs, legs and hands.
Stray dog attack leaves women injured
The injured included Rajavva, Tirupatamma and three other women from the colony. Moreover, Tirupatamma was carrying her grandson while walking to a grocery shop when the dog suddenly attacked her.
She tried to protect the child during the attack. However, the dog knocked her to the ground and bit her on the head and thigh. Meanwhile, local residents chased the animal away and prevented further attacks. Additionally, the dog attacked Rajavva, two other women walking in the colony and another woman travelling on a scooter.
Stray dog attack sparks residents’ protest
Residents shifted the injured women to the Kamareddy Government Hospital for treatment. Furthermore, colony residents alleged that they had repeatedly urged municipal authorities to control stray dogs but received no response. They demanded immediate action to remove the stray dogs from the colony and prevent similar incidents.
