Hyderabad: Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Wednesday said improving passenger amenities through transport infrastructure projects remains the government’s priority.
During his visit to Nagarkurnool district, the Minister laid the foundation stone for a CC road at Timmajipet Bus Stand. The project will be executed at an estimated cost of ₹11.5 lakh.
Transport infrastructure projects to improve passenger facilities
Ponnam Prabhakar said the government is working to provide rural areas with road and transport facilities comparable to those in urban centres. Moreover, he said a large number of passengers use the Timmajipet Bus Stand every day.
According to the Minister, the new CC road will eliminate dust and mud problems. Additionally, it will improve convenience for passengers and motorists. He directed officials to complete the work within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining quality standards.
Transport infrastructure projects include power upgrade
Later, Ponnam Prabhakar inaugurated a newly constructed 33/11 KV electricity substation at Palem village in Bizinepally mandal. Furthermore, he said the substation would strengthen the power supply network and ensure quality, uninterrupted electricity to rural areas.
The Minister also paid floral tributes to former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy on his birth anniversary. MLC Kuchukulla Damodar Reddy, Nagarkurnool MLA Kuchukulla Rajesh Reddy, District Collector Hemanth Keshav Patil, Regional Transport Officer E. Archana, electricity department officials and public representatives attended the programmes.
