Hyderabad City Police undergoes major restructuring to streamline operations

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad City Police have renamed several police stations and revised their jurisdictions to address administrative challenges arising from the city’s growing population. The reorganisation, approved by the state government, marks the first major structural change in 35 years.

The restructured model addresses jurisdictional issues and operational inefficiencies highlighted by both public feedback and internal reviews, aiming to enhance law enforcement effectiveness across the city. The reorganisation, which involves only internal readjustment of the sanctioned strength of 17,020 personnel without any additional financial outlay, is designed to serve the city’s policing needs for the next decade.

City Police Commissioner C V Anand announced the creation of a new Law and Order police station in Tolichowki, marking it as the 72nd such station under the Commissionerate.

Major changes introduced:

1. Establishment of Tolichowki Police Station

A new Law & Order Police Station – Tolichowki Police Station – has been established, bringing the total number of L&O stations under the Hyderabad City Police to 72. The new station will serve areas previously under Filmnagar, Mehdipatnam (formerly Humayun Nagar), and Golconda Police Stations.

5. Zonal Cyber Crime Cells (ZCCs)
