Hyderabad: Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing and Panjagutta police arrested a drug peddler and three consumers during a joint operation in Panjagutta police station limits.
Police conducted the operation on May 9. Officers seized 13.5 grams of MDMA and seven grams of Charas valued at nearly Rs 1.40 lakh.
Police identified the accused peddler as Thakur R Keshav Raj Singh, a resident of Secunderabad.
The consumers were identified as Rohan Williams, Ayush Gupta and Lakkireddy Nikhil Anurag.
Drug peddler targeted pub and party circles
Investigators said the accused initially consumed narcotic substances before entering drug peddling for easy money.
Police alleged that the accused supplied MDMA and Charas to consumers in Hyderabad. Investigators said he mainly targeted pub culture and party circles.
Police registered a case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Panjagutta police station and continued further investigation.
HNEW officials appealed to parents and citizens to remain alert about growing drug abuse among youth. They also urged people to share information related to narcotic activities.
Dy Commissioner of Police Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath supervised the operation.
