Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has urged Hyderabad district authorities to protect Indiramma houses land in Thokatta, alleging that a government property earmarked for welfare housing has come under private control.
BRS spokesperson Krishank Manne submitted a representation to Hyderabad District Collector Priyanka Ala seeking immediate intervention in the matter.
According to the representation, the land measures about eight acres and carries an estimated value of nearly ₹800 crore.
Indiramma houses land dispute raised before collector
Krishank alleged that historical revenue records identified the property as government land.
He said records dating back to 1955 classified the site as Poramboke Sarkari land.
Furthermore, he claimed that past legal proceedings also treated the property as government-owned land.
Despite this, the BRS leader alleged that private parties currently control the land and have fenced it off.
He argued that the situation raised serious questions about how the Indiramma houses land moved into private possession.
According to Krishank, authorities had earlier proposed the site for the construction of 6,000 Indiramma houses.
Indiramma houses land inquiry demanded
The BRS leader demanded a detailed investigation into the property’s ownership and legal status.
He sought verification of land records through a joint exercise involving revenue, survey and legal authorities.
In addition, he called for scrutiny of the land’s classification, possession details and title history.
Krishank also requested action against any irregularities that may have occurred.
Moreover, he urged officials to make all related records public to ensure transparency.
The representation stressed the need to safeguard public assets earmarked for welfare programmes.
The District Collector assured the delegation that officials would examine the issue.
She also said the administration would take appropriate action after reviewing the matter.
