KTR alleges political vendetta after meeting Krishank in Sangareddy jail

Hyderabad: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao on Monday accused the Congress government of pursuing political vendetta against BRS leaders after meeting former Telangana State Mineral Development Corporation chairman Krishank at Sangareddy jail.

Several BRS leaders accompanied KTR during the visit. Former minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, MLAs Chinta Prabhakar, Padi Kaushik Reddy, Sanjay and K. P. Vivekanand also attended.

MLC Shambhipur Raju, BRS general secretary R. S. Praveen Kumar and other party leaders were present during the meeting.

KTR alleged that the government was filing illegal cases against BRS leaders for questioning corruption and irregularities.

He described Krishank as an educated youth leader, advocate and PhD holder who actively participated in the Osmania University student movement before Telangana’s formation.

Political vendetta allegation raised over Krishank arrest

According to KTR, police registered around 35 cases against Krishank over social media posts and allegations related to government functioning.

He claimed authorities booked cases after Krishank raised issues related to alleged corruption, contracts and public grievances.

KTR alleged that police kept Krishank in jail for 12 days despite the possibility of station bail in cases involving punishment below four years.

The BRS leader also accused the government of misusing the police system for political purposes.

He criticised the government for allegedly focusing on social media posts instead of addressing crimes taking place in the state.

KTR further alleged that authorities ignored High Court directions while arresting Krishank and stated that the party would file a contempt petition before the court.

He assured support to BRS social media activists and said the party’s legal cell would stand by them.

KTR also thanked media organisations that were highlighting what he described as injustices by the government.
