Hyderabad: The BRS chargesheet accused the Congress government of delivering “1,000 days of distress” in Telangana, alleging governance failures, rising debt and unfulfilled election promises.
BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao released the chargesheet at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday. He then addressed party leaders and criticised the government over its performance.
“The Congress promised heaven in 100 days but has delivered a living hell over the last 1,000 days,” Rama Rao said.
He described the administration as “incompetence Pro Max, corruption Ultra Max, and anarchy iMax.”
Rama Rao also raised concerns over the State’s finances. He alleged that the government had borrowed ₹4.5 lakh crore without creating tangible assets.
The former minister further targeted the Congress government over welfare commitments. He claimed the promised ₹50,000-crore farm loan waiver had been reduced to ₹20,000 crore.
He also alleged delays in Rythu Bandhu payments and shortages of urea. In addition, he claimed the government had not released ₹12,000 crore in fee reimbursements for students.
BRS chargesheet targets jobs and irrigation projects
Rama Rao also criticised the government over employment and infrastructure issues. He pointed to pending job notifications and alleged police action against protesting youth.
Meanwhile, he accused the administration of negligence over key irrigation projects. He referred to the Sunkishala retaining wall collapse and the damaged site of the SLBC tunnel.
The BRS announced a week-long statewide protest campaign from September 2 to 8. During the campaign, party cadres will distribute “Baaki Cards” listing election guarantees that the party says remain unfulfilled.
The party also said it would confront the government during the upcoming Assembly session, which begins on September 7.
BRS deputy floor leaders T. Harish Rao, P. Sabitha Indra Reddy and Talsani Srinivas Yadav attended the programme along with other senior leaders.
The statewide protest campaign began on September 2.
