Hyderabad: AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi urged voters across Telangana to take the Telangana SIR process seriously and protect their voting rights.
Owaisi visited five SIR hearing centres in the Yakutpura Assembly constituency on Wednesday. He inspected the arrangements and spoke with officials handling the process.
He also interacted with representatives of the AIMIM help desks operating at the centres.
Owaisi said election authorities had already released the draft voter list. Voters can submit objections or request corrections in the draft list until October 17.
He urged everyone who received notices from election officials to attend their designated hearing centre without fail.
Telangana SIR process requires voters to submit documents
Owaisi asked voters who received notices to carry their Aadhaar cards and other required identity documents to the hearing centres.
They should submit the documents to the concerned officials during the hearing. According to Owaisi, eligible voters will enter the final voter list only after completing the process and providing the required details.
He appealed to voters not to ignore the notices or delay action.
Owaisi urged eligible voters to use the opportunity to safeguard their right to vote and ensure that their names appear in the final voter list.
The draft voter list remains open for objections and corrections until October 17.
