Hyderabad: As part of the anti-narcotics awareness week being conducted across Telangana ahead of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, police organized an Anti-drug awareness programme at Sattva Knowledge City under the limits of Rayadurgam Police Station.
Around 200 software employees and officials participated in the programme, which focused on creating awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle free from addictive substances.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Kukatpally Deputy Commissioner of Police Rithiraj, IPS, explained the adverse consequences of drug consumption and urged employees and youth to stay away from narcotic substances. He stressed that protecting physical and mental well-being was essential for a productive and successful future.
Anti-drug awareness programme reaches IT employees
The DCP called upon citizens to act responsibly and contribute to building a drug-free society. He said every individual has a role in strengthening communities and preventing the spread of substance abuse.
During the programme, police widely promoted the messages “Say No to Drugs – Choose Life, Choose a Drug-Free Future” and “మత్తు వద్దు… మంచి భవిష్యత్తు ముద్దు!” to encourage people to reject drug use and embrace a healthier future.
Madhapur Assistant Commissioner of Police C.H. Sridhar, Rayadurgam Police Station SHO C.H. Venkanna, DI Bhupathi, police personnel and IT employees also attended the event. The programme formed part of a broader statewide campaign aimed at increasing awareness and preventing drug abuse among different sections of society.
