IAS officers transferred in HMDA and GHMC reshuffle

Hyderabad: The Telangana government transferred several IAS officers on Friday, making key administrative changes in the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

As part of the reshuffle, the government appointed Venkanna, who served as Joint Metropolitan Commissioner of HMDA, as the Municipal Commissioner of the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC).

Meanwhile, the government appointed K. Chandrakala, the GHMC Shamshabad Zonal Commissioner and Additional Commissioner (Elections), as Joint Metropolitan Commissioner of HMDA. She will oversee the Core Urban Region, Land Pooling and Metro Rail. In addition, she will hold full additional charge of the post.

Chandrakala’s transfer has attracted attention because she has been handling key responsibilities related to the ongoing SIR process. However, the government gave her additional responsibilities at HMDA without naming a replacement for her current position. As a result, the decision has sparked discussion in administrative circles.
