Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to accelerate the Musi Rejuvenation project, complete land acquisition quickly and expedite Phase-2 tenders. The Chief Minister reviewed the project after returning to Telangana following the completion of his London visit.
He held a high-level special review meeting at the MCRHRD Bodhi Pavilion on Tuesday afternoon. Officials briefed him on the progress of the government’s Musi initiative. During the meeting, Revanth Reddy issued several directions aimed at speeding up project implementation.
He asked officials to complete the land acquisition required for the Musi development process at the earliest. Revanth Reddy directed officials to frame a clear land pooling policy for the required land acquisition.
The policy should ensure appropriate compensation and benefits for affected people and those providing land, he said. Officials were asked to establish clear procedures before proceeding with the land pooling mechanism.
The Chief Minister also directed authorities to immediately invite tenders for the Omkareshwara temple at Manchirevula. In addition, he asked officials to publicise the Kotwalguda Bird Park.
Revanth Reddy told municipal commissioners to focus on securing low-interest loans for projects. He also reviewed issues concerning land within the Full Tank Level and buffer zones along the Musi catchment areas.
The Chief Minister directed officials to clear doubts surrounding such lands. He asked the authorities to issue an official clarification on the matter soon.
Musi Rejuvenation project Phase-2 tenders ordered
Revanth Reddy also reviewed the process for the second phase of the Musi Rejuvenation project. He directed officials to complete the necessary procedures quickly and invite tenders for Phase-2 works at the earliest.
The Chief Minister also focused on the issuance and utilisation of Transferable Development Rights. Officials were instructed to review TDR issuance and utilisation every week. Revanth Reddy asked them to ensure that delays did not affect the progress of the works.
The directions covered land acquisition, financing, tenders and regulatory issues connected with the project. Municipal administration officials attended the review meeting.
Officials from the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited also participated, along with senior officials from the Chief Minister’s Office.
The Chief Minister asked the departments concerned to move ahead with the Musi Rejuvenation project without delays and complete the required procedures promptly.
