Telangana police jobs recruitment: BJP slams government over 5,000 posts

Hyderabad: BJP Legislature Party leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy criticised the Telangana government over Telangana police jobs after it approved recruitment to only 5,000 police posts. He said the state police department had nearly 20,000 vacancies. According to him, the decision betrayed unemployed youth and ignored the department’s actual staffing requirements.

Responding on X, Maheshwar Reddy questioned the Congress government’s recruitment policy. He argued that limiting recruitment to 5,000 posts denied opportunities to thousands of eligible candidates. The move also failed to address the shortage in the police department, he said.

He also questioned the Congress party’s election promise of providing two lakh government jobs. Maheshwar Reddy said the party had assured unemployed youth that it would fill those vacancies within its first year in office. He alleged that the promise helped the party secure votes.

BJP questions Telangana police jobs decision

After taking office, the Congress government reduced recruitment instead of expanding it, Maheshwar Reddy alleged. He said the Telangana police jobs decision had dashed the hopes of thousands of unemployed youth seeking government employment.

The BJP leader also accused the government of acting arrogantly towards police job aspirants holding peaceful protests. Instead of resolving their grievances, officials allegedly filed cases against the protesters and arrested them. Maheshwar Reddy condemned those actions and demanded that the government address the candidates’ concerns.

Finally, Maheshwar Reddy said the Bharatiya Janata Party fully supported the legitimate demands of police job aspirants. He added that the BJP would continue to stand with students and unemployed youth. The party would keep pressuring the government until eligible candidates received their rightful employment opportunities and jobs, he said.
