Aleti Maheshwar Reddy seeks white paper on 2 lakh jobs promise

Hyderabad: BJP Legislature Party leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy demanded that the Telangana government release a white paper on its 2 lakh jobs promise made before the Assembly elections. He made the demand in an open letter addressed to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Maheshwar Reddy questioned why the government had issued a notification for only 7,437 police posts when nearly 20,000 vacancies existed in the department. He also demanded the immediate withdrawal of GO 46.

According to Maheshwar Reddy, the latest police recruitment notification has created confusion and disappointment among unemployed youth. Thousands of aspirants have spent years preparing for recruitment exams and remain dissatisfied with the government’s decision.

2 lakh jobs promise under BJP scrutiny

He alleged that GO 46 was causing serious injustice to meritorious candidates from rural areas. According to him, the government had allocated most police vacancies to urban commissionerates such as Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri.

Candidates from backward districts, including the undivided Adilabad, Nirmal, Narayanpet and Gadwal, were losing opportunities despite securing high marks, he claimed. Fewer vacancies in those districts had affected their chances of selection.

Maheshwar Reddy questioned the practice of prescribing different cut-off marks for candidates who appeared for the same examination. He alleged that the system discriminated against rural youth and urged the government to revoke GO 46.
