CEO directs collectors to complete SIR enumeration form distribution by July 7

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C. Sudharshan Reddy directed district collectors to complete the distribution of SIR enumeration forms across the state by July 7. He reviewed the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise during a video conference with collectors on Monday.

Additional CEO V. Venkateswarlu Reddy also attended the meeting. The CEO instructed collectors, particularly those from Hyderabad, Medchal and Rangareddy districts, to ensure 100 per cent distribution of the forms in urban areas.

Sudharshan Reddy said supervisors should play a key role in assisting Booth Level Officers (BLOs). He directed collectors to identify weak-performing BLOs and extend the required support. He also asked officials to involve local volunteers to help voters fill out the forms.

The CEO instructed collectors to publicise supervisors’ contact numbers through the media. He also asked them to set up additional help desks wherever necessary. Hyderabad has already established 16 help desks for the exercise.

SIR enumeration forms verification gains pace

Meanwhile, Sudharshan Reddy directed officials to ensure that completed forms carry the signatures of both the voter and the BLO. He also instructed them to verify that photographs are attached to every form.

Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) should intensify field visits to speed up the process, he said. He also instructed officials to begin digitising completed forms without delay.

The CEO directed officials to continue rationalising polling stations. He said members of the same family should, wherever possible, vote at the same polling station.

Additionally, he asked BLOs to verify online submissions and undergo another round of training along with supervisors. He also instructed BLOs to hold meetings with recognised political parties and create awareness about the SIR process.

Deputy Election Officer Chari, Deputy Collector (SGDC) Chennayya, PM IT Chiranjeevi and other officials participated in the video conference.
