Hyderabad: SIR 2026 enumeration gathered pace in Telangana after election officials distributed 1,43,17,635 Enumeration Forms during the first four days of the Special Intensive Revision exercise. The Chief Electoral Office said the distribution covered 42.33% of the State’s electorate.
The Chief Electoral Office issued the figures in a statement on Sunday. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) continued door-to-door visits and distributed Enumeration Forms as part of the electoral roll revision programme.
Meanwhile, State election officials will review the progress of the exercise through a video conference with District Election Officers (DEOs) and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) on Monday.
The officials will examine complaints that political parties submitted about the distribution process. In addition, they will discuss the difficulties that BLOs reported and the confusion that emerged in several areas.
SIR 2026 enumeration review to address BLO issues
Several BLOs reportedly expressed concern over the workload involved in distributing Enumeration Forms while performing their regular duties. Accordingly, election authorities will assess the operational challenges and identify measures to ensure smooth completion of the exercise.
Further, the officials will discuss ways to streamline the enumeration process and improve coordination at the district level.
Meanwhile, the Telangana government directed all departments not to assign additional duties to BLOs participating in the SIR 2026 enumeration exercise. The order aims to help them complete voter verification and form distribution without interruption.
