Hyderabad: Hyderabad bullet train corridors have entered the field survey stage as officials began alignment marking for the proposed high-speed rail links connecting Hyderabad with Chennai and Bengaluru.
Survey teams have started field-level work across parts of Rangareddy district and are extending the exercise towards Nalgonda and Vikarabad districts. Officials have carried out the survey over the past 10 days to identify the proposed routes.
The proposed Hyderabad-Chennai corridor passes through Shamshabad, Maheshwaram, Kandukur and Yacharam mandals before entering Nampally mandal in Nalgonda district. Meanwhile, the Hyderabad-Bengaluru corridor passes through Shamshabad and Shabad mandals.
Survey teams have marked agricultural fields and other locations with red and white reference points. Officials are using these markings to identify the proposed alignment, survey points and areas that may require land acquisition.
Hyderabad bullet train corridors move towards route finalisation
Officials have already completed marking works in Kurmidda, Medipalli, Mankisgudem, Takkallapalli, Chintapatla, Nallavelli, Mandana and Gourelli villages in Yacharam mandal.
Earlier, authorities conducted an aerial survey for the proposed high-speed rail corridors as part of the feasibility study. Subsequently, officials accelerated ground-level surveys to finalise the routes.
The field survey will help authorities determine the final alignment for both corridors. It will also provide clarity on the proposed station locations and land acquisition requirements after the survey concludes.
