Hyderabad: Six people, including a 17-year-old girl, two women and two toddlers, were allegedly murdered by a man in Shabad mandal of Ranga Reddy district early on Saturday. Police linked the Shabad murders to a POCSO case they registered against the suspect earlier this year.
According to police, Raj Kumar of Daivalaguda village came under arrest in May after the minor girl accused him of harassment. Meanwhile, police registered a case against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on May 16. He later secured bail.
The suspect allegedly entered the girl’s house during the early hours of Saturday and attacked her family members. Police suspect he took the girl to a nearby agricultural field. Investigators believe he sexually assaulted and murdered her there.

Police said the suspect then allegedly killed the girl’s mother, Chityala Lakshmi (45), and grandmother, Chityala Rukkamma (65). Further, he allegedly returned to his house and killed his wife, Parvathi Saritha (30), and their two children, Parikshit (3) and Daivikshit (2).
Investigators are still trying to establish why the suspect allegedly killed his own family members. Additionally, police said he called his parents after the murders. He allegedly admitted killing six people at two locations and said he intended to end his own life.
His parents immediately alerted the police. However, the suspect fled before police teams reached the crime scenes. Police shifted all six bodies for post-mortem examination. Officers registered a case and launched an investigation.
Senior police officers, including Future City Police Commissioner Tarun Joshi, visited the crime scenes. Finally, police launched a manhunt to trace the absconding suspect while continuing the investigation.
