Telangana SIR 2026: CEO orders timely notices and hearings

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy on Monday directed election officials to ensure timely notices and hearings under Telangana SIR 2026. He also ordered strict compliance with Election Commission of India guidelines during the ongoing electoral roll revision.

Sudharsan Reddy issued the directions during a video conference with District Election Officers and Electoral Registration Officers across Telangana. The Commissioner of GHMC, who is also the District Election Officer for Hyderabad, participated in the meeting. Additional Chief Electoral Officer Vasam Venkateswar Reddy and Deputy CEO G.S. Chary also attended.

The CEO directed Booth Level Officers to personally deliver every notice to the elector concerned. In addition, he asked officials to involve Booth Level Agents in locating addresses, particularly in urban areas. Officials were also told to use the additional logins provided to districts. The CEO directed them to clear pending cases within the stipulated time.

Telangana SIR 2026 officials told to share case lists

Sudharsan Reddy instructed officials to share lists of un-Mapping and Anomalies cases with political parties during meetings. Moreover, officials were asked to encourage BLAs to actively participate in the claims and objections process.

The CEO stressed that BLOs, BLO Supervisors and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers must correctly upload documents. He said officials must follow Election Commission of India guidelines while handling the records.

ERO and AERO officials would also bear responsibility for errors committed by computer operators working under their supervision. The Telangana SIR 2026 review also covered arrangements for elderly electors and persons with disabilities.

Supervisors were directed to visit the residences of aged persons and PwDs in areas where hearings had not yet been covered. Meanwhile, help desks at ERO and DEO offices were activated to assist electors.

Telangana SIR 2026 progress reviewed district-wise

Sudharsan Reddy reviewed the progress of the electoral roll revision separately for each district. The review covered the delivery of notices, hearing schedules and clearance of pending cases available in ERO and DEO logins.

The CEO emphasised timely completion of the pending work while ensuring compliance with the prescribed procedures. His directions also focused on personal notice delivery, accurate document uploads and assistance to electors requiring additional support.

Nodal Officers and PM (IT) officials also participated in the video conference. The Telangana SIR 2026 exercise continued with officials tasked with clearing pending cases within the prescribed timelines. Election authorities were also directed to ensure that hearings and the claims and objections process proceeded according to the stipulated guidelines.
