Hyderabad: Additional Chief Electoral Officer Vasam Venkateswar Reddy reviewed Special Intensive Revision preparedness and directed officials to speed up voter mapping and electoral roll updates ahead of the exercise.
Special Intensive Revision preparedness reviewed across districts
He conducted the review through a video conference from the CEO Telangana Office on Monday. Election Returning Officers and Assistant Election Returning Officers from 28 Assembly constituencies joined the session.
These constituencies span Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Sangareddy, Medchal–Malkajgiri, Nizamabad, and Khammam. However, officials noted that voter mapping in these areas remained below 50%.
During the session, he examined Special Intensive Revision preparedness in detail. He reviewed electoral mapping, disposal of demographically similar entries, and pending Forms 6, 6A, 7, and 8.
He directed officials to map all eligible voters in the 2025 electoral roll with the 2002 voter list. Further, he instructed Booth Level Officers to conduct door-to-door visits and complete data collection quickly.
Special Intensive Revision preparedness targets voter accuracy
He also asked officials to use Booth Level Agents effectively and coordinate with Residential Welfare Associations. As a result, these steps will improve voter verification and expand coverage.
In addition, he instructed teams to identify dead, multiple, and shifted voters and take action as per standard procedures. He directed them to clearly mark VVIP and VIP electors in the rolls.
Moreover, he asked AEROs to follow the action plan strictly and achieve daily mapping targets. Therefore, he stressed timely completion of the exercise.
The Deputy CEO, STNO, project manager, and other staff attended the meeting.
