The incident occurred on October 25 near Mittagudem in Ashwapuram mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district. A passenger allegedly pushed Pravallika out of the moving bus during a dispute over change. She fell beneath the vehicle and suffered severe injuries after its wheels ran over both her legs.
She was shifted to a private hospital in Hyderabad for advanced treatment. Ponnam and senior RTC officials visited her at the hospital and asked doctors to provide the best possible care.
Her condition had raised hopes of recovery. However, doctors could not save her. Pravallika died while undergoing treatment on Tuesday.
Her death triggered grief across the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation. The RTC workers’ unions Joint Action Committee called for a shutdown of the Manuguru depot on Wednesday. It demanded action against the woman accused of pushing Pravallika from the bus.
