Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharshan Reddy led a voter mapping review and directed officials to speed up the Special Intensive Revision process across Telangana.
He held a video conference with District Election Officers and Electoral Registration Officers from the CEO’s office in Hyderabad. During the meeting, he examined the status of voter mapping under SIR and pushed officials to accelerate work, especially in urban pockets.
He asked the Commissioner of GHMC, DEO Hyderabad, and officials from Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts to frame targeted strategies. These districts required focused planning due to higher migrant inflows.
Voter mapping review targets urban clusters
The CEO set a deadline to complete the mapping exercise by the end of the month. He also instructed officials to link women voters below 40 years of age with their parents during the process.
He urged officials to involve residential associations and gated communities in the exercise. At the same time, BLOs must support voluntary mapping efforts, while EROs and AEROs should conduct field visits across gated communities and slum areas.
He called for large-scale awareness drives through SVEEP activities. In addition, officials must carry out regular field inspections and set up help desks at DEO, ERO, and AERO offices.
Additional CEO Dr V. Venkateswar Reddy, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, and district officials, including C. Narayana Reddy and M. Manu Choudary, attended the review along with senior officers from the CEO’s office.
