CM Revanth Reddy seeks Centre’s support for key Telangana projects

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday sought Telangana projects support from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a series of infrastructure, education, industrial and connectivity initiatives.

During a meeting in New Delhi, Revanth Reddy submitted a memorandum seeking the Centre’s assistance for projects that he said were critical to Telangana’s growth and India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.

The Chief Minister outlined the Telangana Rising vision and said the state aimed to become a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047 through investments in education, skills, infrastructure, manufacturing and innovation.

He also proposed a special fund of Rs 6 lakh crore for urban infrastructure development, with Rs 1 lakh crore allocated to each major city under the plan.

Telangana projects support sought for education and infrastructure

Revanth Reddy requested the Prime Minister’s support for establishing an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Hyderabad.

He said Telangana remained among the few major states without an IIM despite hosting institutions such as IIT, IIIT, NALSAR, TIFR and ISB.

The Chief Minister said the state government had offered 200 acres of encumbrance-free land in Hyderabad for the proposed institute.

He also sought speedy approval and implementation of the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road project, covering both northern and southern corridors.

In addition, he requested support for the proposed Hyderabad-Amaravati-Bandar Port Expressway and a four-lane elevated corridor from Mannanur to Srisailam on NH-765.

Telangana projects support requested for mobility and industry

On urban transport, Revanth Reddy sought approval for Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II. The project covers 122.9 kilometres across seven corridors and carries an estimated cost of Rs 38,595 crore.

He proposed the metro expansion as a joint venture between the Union and Telangana governments.

The Chief Minister also sought support for the Musi River Rejuvenation Project and Bharat Future City, which the state envisions as a next-generation sustainable urban hub.

He urged the Centre to approve the Regional Ring Rail Project and facilitate the establishment of a Central High-Speed Rail Hub at Shamshabad.

The memorandum also sought support for high-speed rail links connecting Hyderabad with Chennai, Bengaluru and Pune.

Highlighting Telangana’s growth in technology and manufacturing, Revanth Reddy requested allocation of projects under the India Semiconductor Mission 2.0.

He also sought approval for the proposed Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC 2.0) at Future City with grant-in-aid support from the Centre.

The Chief Minister further requested early approvals for the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme.

He also sought the Prime Minister’s intervention in discussions with Maharashtra regarding the proposed Tummidihatti Barrage under the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Pranahita-Chevella Project.

Revanth Reddy expressed confidence that continued cooperation from the Union government would help Telangana emerge as a global hub for education, innovation, manufacturing and services.
