Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy defended his government’s performance and launched a sharp attack on the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government during the foundation stone ceremony for the Ande Sri Smriti Vanam. He accused the former regime of betraying Telangana’s self-respect, neglecting unemployed youth and promoting family rule.
The Chief Minister described poet Ande Sri as his inspiration and said the people’s government was working in line with his ideals. He recalled that Ande Sri’s songs had inspired the Telangana movement and awakened public consciousness.
Revanth Reddy speech praises Ande Sri’s legacy
Revanth Reddy said Ande Sri never compromised his self-respect or sought recognition from those in power. He said the poet dedicated his writings to the people of Telangana and inspired generations through his movement songs.
The Chief Minister alleged that the previous government deliberately prevented Ande Sri’s famous “Jaya Jayahe Telangana” song from receiving the recognition it deserved. However, he said the song was now being sung in schools and homes across the State.
He also recalled the contribution of late balladeer Gaddar and said attempts to suppress the voices of Ande Sri and Gaddar strengthened the resolve to end what he described as feudal rule in Telangana.
Revanth Reddy speech highlights jobs and governance
The Chief Minister accused the previous BRS government of issuing recruitment notifications without completing appointments. According to him, paper leak incidents disrupted recruitment and denied employment opportunities to thousands of unemployed youth.
He said his government removed administrative hurdles and filled 70,000 government jobs within a year. Moreover, he said the government personally handed over appointment letters to successful candidates in the presence of their parents at LB Stadium and Shilpakala Vedika.
Revanth Reddy questioned why the previous government had failed to complete recruitments during its ten-year tenure. He also alleged that the former rulers focused on enriching their family while pushing Telangana into debt.
The Chief Minister said every vacant government post would be filled. Furthermore, he urged unemployed youth not to believe what he described as misleading political campaigns.
He also highlighted several decisions taken by his government. These included appointing Telangana martyr Srikanta Chary’s mother Shankaramma and Chakali Ailamma’s granddaughter as members of the State Women’s Commission. He also noted that Professor M. Kodandaram had been nominated as an MLC and that nine poets had been honoured with cash awards of ₹1 crore each.
Revanth Reddy asserted that the Congress government stood for Telangana’s self-respect and public welfare. Finally, he claimed the people would continue to support the present government and rejected allegations made by the opposition.
