Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao paid floral tributes on Basaveshwara birth anniversary at Tank Bund on Monday.
He marked the 895th birth anniversary of Basaveshwara and extended greetings on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He conveyed wishes to the people of Telangana, followers of Basaveshwara, and members of the Lingayat community.
He said the saint’s teachings continued to guide successive generations. Therefore, he stressed their continued relevance in public life and governance.
Modi initiatives reflect Basaveshwara birth anniversary ideals
Ramchander Rao said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had drawn inspiration from Basaveshwara’s philosophy. He cited observance of Basaveshwara Jayanti, installation of his statue in London, and inclusion of such ideals in governance and welfare initiatives.
He added that themes such as women’s empowerment and social justice reflected these principles. He also said Basaveshwara worked to remove caste and religious barriers while promoting equality in society.
He called on people to follow the path shown by the reformer. He urged citizens to work towards building a society based on equality, harmony, and cultural values.
He further said Basaveshwara’s philosophy held greater relevance in present times. He asked people to adopt these teachings for societal progress and national development.
BJP party workers also took part in the programme held at Tank Bund.
