Hyderabad: Hyderabad district in-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Tuesday inspected the Borabanda Basti Dawakhana and directed officials to improve healthcare services, diagnostics and patient care.
District Collector Dr Priyanka Ala, MLA Naveen Yadav and GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan accompanied the Minister during the visit.
Ponnam Prabhakar underwent blood sugar, blood pressure and other basic health tests at the facility. He reviewed the services available for patients and interacted with officials.
Borabanda Basti Dawakhana asked to improve patient services
The Minister directed officials to ensure that patients have access to all essential diagnostic tests. He also asked them to increase outpatient attendance and provide patient-friendly healthcare services.
Further, Ponnam Prabhakar instructed officials to address infrastructure gaps and ensure the availability of medicines. He also called for special preparedness to tackle seasonal diseases during the monsoon.
Meanwhile, the Minister directed officials to monitor services continuously and resolve deficiencies without delay.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to public healthcare, Ponnam Prabhakar said the State had appointed special officers to review Basti Dawakhanas. He said they would assess treatment services and infrastructure and recommend measures to strengthen outpatient services. He added that the initiative aims to improve healthcare for the urban poor and enhance public confidence in government health facilities.
