Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar launched sharp criticism against BRS chief and former chief minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, reacting to his remarks on the government.
Speaking to the media in Hyderabad, he said the opposition should offer constructive suggestions. Instead, he said, KCR had confined himself to criticism. He added that the government would not sit idle in the face of such remarks.
He said people elected the Congress government through a democratic process. Therefore, he asserted, the party did not come to power through anyone’s favour. He also expressed confidence that the Congress would remain in power in Telangana for the next decade.
Ponnam Prabhakar criticism questions KCR’s political stand
Referring to former minister Jeevan Reddy, he said the Congress had given him opportunities multiple times. However, he questioned what contribution Jeevan Reddy had made to the party.
At the same time, he said the party and the government were working in coordination. He also dismissed claims that welfare measures depended on political pressure from BRS meetings.
Further, Ponnam Prabhakar criticism included allegations that financial issues created during the previous K. Chandrashekhar Rao government had affected welfare schemes. However, he said the current government was implementing election promises in a phased manner.
He reiterated that the government remained committed to fulfilling every assurance given to the people.
