Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy on Monday directed election officials to clear SIR-2026 pending cases within the prescribed timelines.
The CEO reviewed the progress of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 through a video conference. Additional CEO Vasam Venkateswar Reddy and Deputy CEO G.S. Chary also participated in the review.
The conference included the GHMC Commissioner and Hyderabad District Election Officer. All District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers also attended.
Sudharsan Reddy directed officials to accelerate the disposal of cases classified under the Anomalies and No-Mapping categories. He also appreciated the progress recorded by EROs and DEOs.
BLO Supervisors, Booth Level Officers and AEROs were instructed to meet their daily targets. They were also told to finish their assigned work within the stipulated period.
Officials were directed to quickly dispose of pending Forms 6, 7 and 8. They were also asked to clear enquiry and hearing cases. However, electors had to receive adequate time to submit supporting documents.
SIR-2026 pending cases reviewed district-wise
The CEO instructed BLO Supervisors and BLOs to familiarise themselves with the indicative list of documents. They were asked to clearly explain the documentation requirements to electors.
Sudharsan Reddy clarified that Booth Level Agents should not serve notices. Instead, their role had to remain limited to assisting BLOs in identifying houses. He directed officials to clear SIR-2026 pending cases at the ERO level without delay. Additional personnel, including computer operators, could be deployed wherever required.
However, AEROs, EROs and BLO Supervisors had to properly supervise the work of the additional personnel. For greater transparency, officials were directed to regularly display Forms 6, 7 and 8 and relevant information on notice boards. The information also had to be shared with political parties.
Where applicable, any family member could submit documents on behalf of other members of the family. The CEO also directed officials to avoid unnecessarily requiring senior citizens and Persons with Disabilities to attend hearings physically. In cases involving NRIs, an authorised proxy could submit documents wherever applicable.
Sudharsan Reddy stressed the need for special attention to cases identified as ineligible. Officials had to issue appropriate speaking orders only after following due process.
During the review, the CEO examined district-wise hearing schedules and cases awaiting final publication against notices generated. He also reviewed pending Forms 6, 7 and 8 in ERO and DEO logins.
Officials were directed to complete all remaining SIR-2026 pending cases and related processes within the prescribed timelines.
