Hyderabad: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao asked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to visit Telangana and hear the concerns of Telangana students.
KTR also accused Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of betraying the State’s youth.
He made the remarks while addressing a students and youth meeting at Ambedkar Stadium in Karimnagar on Saturday.
KTR targeted Rahul Gandhi’s “Chhatron Ki Goonj” campaign. He asked the Congress leader to listen to students in Telangana.
“Rahul Gandhi is changing colours from state to state. You are talking about ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ across India. I demand that you come to Telangana and listen to the problems of our students. You will hear the real Goonj of students here. Come to Telangana and listen to the voice of Telangana’s students,” KTR said.
He also questioned Rahul Gandhi over the promise to provide two lakh jobs every year in Telangana.
KTR alleged that Congress leaders disappeared after securing votes. He warned Rahul Gandhi that the BRS would take its fight to Delhi if he did not visit Telangana.
“If you do not come, we will come to Delhi,” he warned.
Telangana students face questions over jobs and welfare
KTR referred to recent youth protests in Delhi. He said the Centre had taken note after young people came onto the streets.
“The youth who made even Modi tremble have nothing to fear from this Kedi,” he remarked.
Meanwhile, KTR challenged Revanth Reddy to face Telangana’s youth and the BRS in the Assembly.
He asked the Chief Minister to provide answers on every unfulfilled electoral promise.
KTR questioned the status of the job calendar and the Youth Commission. He also sought answers on the unemployment allowance and youth loans.
In addition, he raised the issue of fee reimbursement for students.
He also questioned the government over its promise to provide reservations for local youth in private-sector employment.
KTR alleged that Telangana had no job calendar. Instead, he claimed, the State had a “scam calendar”.
The BRS working president said the government should answer the concerns raised by Telangana students and youth.
He continued his criticism of the Congress government over its employment and welfare commitments at the Karimnagar meeting.
