Hyderabad: BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday outlined the KCR Assembly strategy for party MLAs and MLCs ahead of the Legislature session beginning Monday. He directed them to attend without fail, participate in every debate and question the State government over public issues.
KCR issued the directions during a meeting of the BRS Legislature Party. He asked members to remain active in both the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council. Moreover, the former Chief Minister told legislators to challenge the policies of the Congress and BJP in both Houses.
KCR also launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the Congress government. He accused Revanth Reddy of using abusive language inside and outside the Assembly. According to KCR, the Chief Minister’s language reflected what he described as an inability to govern effectively.
KCR Assembly strategy calls for participation in every debate
KCR asked BRS MLAs and MLCs to participate in every discussion during the Legislature session. He directed them to raise public issues and hold the State government accountable. In addition, he asked legislators to highlight what the BRS viewed as failures of Congress and BJP policies.
KCR described the Congress government as an “utter flop” and a “third-rate” administration. He also asserted that Congress would eventually lose power. Furthermore, he accused Revanth Reddy of making cheap remarks. KCR claimed Congress leaders knew that electoral defeat awaited them and alleged that this had led to plunder.
KCR also criticised the Assembly Speaker and alleged bias in the conduct of the House. He described the Speaker’s approach as undemocratic. Meanwhile, KCR referred to challenges asking him to attend the Assembly for a debate.
He alleged that he was being challenged to debate someone he described as a “master of abuse.” KCR also claimed that the person had repeatedly spoken about wishing for his death. The BRS chief maintained that the State government had failed across all sectors.
He also rejected the Congress government’s claims about Telangana’s progress. Instead, KCR asserted that the State faced a decline under the present administration.
The KCR Assembly strategy therefore centred on full attendance by BRS legislators, active participation and sustained questioning of the government. He also directed members to counter Congress and BJP policies during proceedings in both Houses.
