KTR accuses Congress of seizing assigned lands

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Friday accused the Congress government of forcibly acquiring assigned lands belonging to Dalit and Tribal families in the name of industrial development. He alleged that the government had abandoned its election promise to protect poor farmers.

Addressing the BRS Parigi Assembly constituency general body meeting in Parigi, K.T. Rama Rao claimed that the government was acquiring assigned lands in collusion with the local Congress MLA.

He said the BRS would extend legal and political support to affected families if the government proceeded with land acquisition without their consent or without providing fair compensation.

Assigned lands allegations include Lagacherla issue

Referring to the Lagacherla incident, K.T. Rama Rao alleged that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had targeted Tribal communities for opposing land acquisition.

He also claimed that police had filed false cases against villagers and harassed those taken into custody. However, the government has not responded to these allegations in the statement.

Assigned lands allegations accompany criticism of welfare

K.T. Rama Rao further alleged that the Congress government had failed to fulfil several election promises after assuming office.

He claimed the government had not implemented commitments related to Rythu Bharosa, pensions, crop bonuses, financial assistance for tenant farmers and support for agricultural labourers. He also accused the Congress and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of misleading the public during the election campaign.
