Hyderabad: Hyderabad District Congress Committee (DCC) president Syed Khalid Saifullah on Friday said the Congress BLA App was helping Booth Level Agents (BLAs) monitor SIR voter verification and identify potential duplicate entries in electoral rolls. He said the app also helped party workers track the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
Speaking at a training programme for BLAs, Saifullah said the app allowed booth-level workers to track mapped and unmapped voters. It also helped them detect anomalies and assist citizens in completing the required documentation.
SIR voter verification uses digital tools
Saifullah said the app provided booth-wise voter data. It also flagged possible duplicate entries based on names, family details, house numbers and other identifiers. Election Commission officials would verify the flagged cases.
Moreover, Congress volunteers had already digitised and analysed electoral data across Hyderabad district. As a result, BLAs could monitor voter list corrections and enrolment activities more effectively.
SIR voter verification tracks revision progress
Saifullah said the app also tracked the status of voter forms. Therefore, the party could assess the progress of the SIR exercise and identify areas that needed additional outreach.
He stressed that officials should remove duplicate entries without affecting genuine voters. He also urged Congress workers to spend the next month verifying voter lists. Meanwhile, he asked them to use the technology platform responsibly to assist citizens during the revision process.
