Hyderabad: The Telangana SIR exercise for the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls began across the state on Thursday. The exercise will continue until July 24. Election officials started distributing voter enumeration forms on the first day.
Officials handed the forms to Booth Level Agents (BLAs). The BLAs will coordinate with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during the revision process. BLOs will then visit households and distribute the forms to voters.
Under the Telangana SIR exercise, voters must fill out the applications and submit them to their respective BLAs. The BLAs will collect the completed forms from households two days later.
Meanwhile, election officials advised the public to call the toll-free helpline 1950 for assistance. Citizens can also register complaints through the same number if a BLO does not visit their household.
Telangana SIR exercise covers over 3.38 crore voters
Officials will provide the applications in English in Hyderabad district. They will distribute Telugu versions in all other districts.
Each BLO must visit at least 50 households in every polling booth area each day. The exercise covers all 3,38,26,448 registered voters in Telangana. Officials directed every voter to complete the form and return it to the BLO before the July 24 deadline.
