Hyderabad: A woman allegedly lost a five-tola gold chain in a Nizamabad gold chain snatching incident outside her house during the early hours of Thursday, police said.
The incident took place at FCI Colony in Arya Nagar. The victim, Kotte Nagamani, stepped outside her house at around 2 am to use a washroom. According to police and local residents, a man waiting nearby attacked her. He allegedly snatched the gold chain from her neck and fled.

Nagamani immediately raised an alarm. As a result, residents rushed to the spot and alerted the police about Nizamabad gold chain snatching incident.
Police and local residents searched the surrounding area. They later detained a suspect. According to preliminary information, the suspect lives in RTC Colony under the Nizamabad Rural police limits.
Police registered a case and started an investigation. Officers are questioning the suspect. They are also verifying the circumstances surrounding the alleged robbery. Further details are awaited.
