Hyderabad: Police on Thursday said they had cracked the Nalgonda family murder case and detained several suspects in connection with the killing of four members of a family in Telangana Colony on Sagar Road.
According to investigators, the victims were Mohammed Sultan (45), his wife Haseena (40), their son Mujammil (20) and daughter Aksara (11). The four were found dead under suspicious circumstances at their residence.
Police said their investigation revealed that Haseena’s daughter from her first marriage and the daughter’s husband had allegedly conspired to eliminate the family. Investigators alleged that they hired four rowdy-sheeters from Hyderabad’s Old City to carry out the killings.
Nalgonda family murder case linked to property dispute
According to police, Haseena had been married twice before marrying Mohammed Sultan. Investigators said Sultan had also married twice previously, and his children, Mujammil and Aksara, lived with the couple in Nalgonda.
Police alleged that Haseena owned houses and land worth about ₹1 crore. They said the dispute arose after she reportedly indicated that she intended to transfer the property to Sultan’s children through a will.
Investigators alleged that the property dispute prompted Haseena’s daughter from her first marriage and her husband to arrange the killings.
