KTR outlines BRS action plan, targets Congress ahead of elections

Hyderabad: BRS working president K T Rama Rao outlined the KTR BRS plan for the next two years, signalling intensified political action against the Congress government ahead of Assembly elections.

He spoke at Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations held at Telangana Bhavan. At the same time, he confirmed that party chief K Chandrashekar Rao would attend a public meeting in Jagtial on April 20.

KTR said the party would observe its formation day on April 27. Subsequently, he said BRS would launch protests from May and June targeting the Congress government.

He said the party would begin its agitation with SC and ST issues. Therefore, BRS would organise meetings in areas where Congress had announced declarations to highlight unfulfilled promises.

KTR BRS plan targets Congress on welfare promises

KTR alleged that Congress misled people with declarations. He said the party would remind people of those promises through public meetings.

He said Telangana achieved statehood by following Ambedkar’s ideals. However, he accused Congress of using Ambedkar for political purposes.

KTR alleged that Congress prevented Ambedkar from entering Parliament twice. In addition, he said the party failed to honour him with Bharat Ratna and recognition in Parliament.

He criticised the Congress government, calling it ineffective and anti-poor. At the same time, he alleged that welfare institutions like gurukuls faced serious issues.

KTR said BRS would intensify its campaign against the government in the coming months. Consequently, he positioned the party for a political fight leading up to elections.
