Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan marked Ambedkar Jayanti by paying tributes and recalling Dr B R Ambedkar’s role in shaping constitutional governance.
He garlanded Ambedkar’s statue at the GHMC Head Office and led officials in paying floral tributes. At the same time, he highlighted Ambedkar’s contribution as the architect of the Constitution.
Karnan said Ambedkar worked tirelessly to ensure equality and justice for all sections of society. Therefore, he described his ideals as a guiding force for governance.
He said the administration followed Ambedkar’s vision in promoting inclusive and transparent governance. In addition, he stressed the importance of service-oriented public administration.

The Commissioner said Ambedkar’s principles remained relevant in modern administration. He added that governance must focus on equity and accountability.
Senior officials, including Additional Commissioners and department heads, also paid tributes. Meanwhile, staff members participated in the programme at the GHMC office.
