Hyderabad: BRS Yuva Sangrama Sadassu became the latest flashpoint between the BRS and the Congress after BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao accused the Revanth Reddy government of trying to suppress the voice of unemployed youth. He welcomed the Telangana High Court’s order permitting the youth convention at Saroornagar Stadium.
Rama Rao said the government’s attempt to stop the meeting had failed after the High Court upheld the party’s democratic right to organise the convention. He alleged that the Congress government had created hurdles to prevent the event.
Further, Rama Rao said the BRS would continue raising issues concerning unemployed youth and students despite the obstacles. He urged students and job aspirants to attend the convention in large numbers and question the Congress over the promises made in its Youth Declaration.

Meanwhile, BRS general secretary R. S. Praveen Kumar said the party respected the High Court’s verdict. He said the BRS would conduct the convention peacefully.
Additionally, Praveen Kumar objected to the arguments advanced on behalf of the State government in the High Court. He alleged that the government had portrayed the BRS as a source of law and order problems.
Further, he criticised the Congress government for allegedly violating democratic rights while claiming to uphold the Constitution. He questioned why the government opposed permission for an Opposition programme after holding similar public meetings before the Assembly elections.
According to him, volunteers would manage the event and help minimise traffic disruption during the convention.
