Hyderabad: BRS MLA KP Vivekanand demanded Bandi Sanjay resignation and questioned the delay in arresting the Union minister’s son, Bandi Bhagirath, after police registered a case against him.
Addressing a media conference at Jagadgirigutta in Hyderabad, the Qutbullapur MLA alleged that Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy were jointly attempting to weaken the case.
He accused the BJP leader and the state government of targeting the victim’s family to protect the accused. According to Vivekanand, the police failed to act despite registering a case against Bandi Bhagirath.
The MLA questioned whether the state was following different standards for the poor and influential people. He said the government was not ensuring justice for the minor girl while trying to shield the minister’s son.
Bandi Sanjay resignation sought over arrest delay allegations
Vivekanand said leaders who failed to deliver justice to a minor girl could not protect public interests. He demanded that Bandi Sanjay accept responsibility for his son’s actions and resign immediately.
He also urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to treat the case seriously and ensure justice for the victim’s family. Otherwise, the BRS would continue its fight on behalf of the victims, he warned.
The MLA alleged that authorities were deliberately delaying action in the case. He said the victim’s family deserved protection and a fair investigation without political interference.
Vivekanand reiterated that Bandi Sanjay resignation was necessary to ensure an impartial probe and restore public confidence in the investigation process.
