Hyderabad: Telangana Rakshana Sena president Kalvakuntla Kavitha demanded land allotment and recognition for Telangana activists while criticising the state government’s handling of water-related issues.
Addressing a press conference at the Telangana Rakshana Sena office in Banjara Hills, Kavitha said the government must honour commitments made to activists who participated in the Telangana movement.
She expressed disappointment over the exclusion of her organisation from discussions related to the identification of movement activists.
Kavitha said Telangana Rakshana Sena would launch agitations to secure benefits for activists.
Telangana activists seek land and recognition
Kavitha demanded that the government allot land to participants in the Telangana movement.
She also sought the allocation of land in Uppal Bhagayat and Nadargul for eligible beneficiaries.
The TRS leader said her organisation would intensify protests if the government failed to address the issue.
Meanwhile, Kavitha criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over irrigation and water-sharing matters.
She alleged that the government had not given adequate attention to the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme.
Kavitha also raised concerns over water allocations involving Andhra Pradesh.
She said Telangana should protect its interests in Krishna and Godavari river waters.
The TRS leader urged the government to seek a larger share of Godavari water for the state.
She also called on the Chief Minister to safeguard Telangana’s long-term water requirements.
Kavitha said Telangana Rakshana Sena would continue raising issues related to water resources and the welfare of movement participants.
