Telangana activists identification committee plans stakeholder consultations

The committee resolved to conduct consultations with different sections of society from June 23. The discussions will involve representatives of Student JACs, artists, writers, advocates, doctors and public organisations.

Members said the consultations would help gather opinions and recommendations for identifying individuals who actively participated in the Telangana movement. The committee plans to hold extensive discussions with activists, welfare associations and public organisations that took part in the statehood movement between 2001 and 2014.

Officials said the process would remain non-political and focus on collecting suggestions from all sections connected to the movement.

Telangana activists identification committee to accept suggestions online

To improve transparency, the committee decided to accept suggestions through both online and offline modes. A dedicated website will be launched to collect recommendations and representations from stakeholders.

In addition, designated officials will receive offline submissions and record details provided by activists and organisations. Committee members said the feedback collected through these mechanisms would help formulate a structured process for recognising Telangana movement activists. The committee added that it would gather suggestions in phases before finalising recommendations on the identification process.
